We always carry a comprehensive range of tyres to suit every type of vehicle, including Cars,  4 x 4’s, etc. On the rare occasion we do not have your particular tyre in stock; we will source and fit them for you. Our equipment is all state of the art and gets the job done quickly and more importantly safely.

We do suggest that you get your tyres changed once they are less than 3mm to ensure maximum efficiency.


If you would like to check stock or order tyres, call our office today. If you are unsure what you need, you can find this marked on your current tyres, or you can simply bring the car into us and we can do this for you.

We do recommend that you learn how to change a tyre if you do not already know. Getting a puncture is one of the most common reasons for breakdown and is easily changed if you know how.

Tyres are the only contact between your car and the road and it is imperative that they are in excellent condition. Here are a few practical things you can do to keep your tyres in good condition;


  • Check the pressure in your tyres. Refer to your manual or speak to us if you are unsure what this is.
  • Check for damage, cracks, etc. If you have hit a large pothole etc. your mechanic at Maurice Dunne Motors can check for internal damage.
  • Check the tread depth of your tyres. The legal minimum requirement is 1.6mm.
  • Always make sure your spare is in perfect condition – you never know when you will need it.

Keep safe on Irish Roads this Winter

At Maurice Dunne, we offer a check on your car to ensure you and your family are safe on the roads this winter. Weather reports are suggesting that this will be one of the harshest winters yet. Many accidents on our roads could be avoided if we keep prepared.


In severe weather conditions, the following is recommended;

  • Keep journeys to a minimum, ask yourself is it really necessary.
  • Check your wiper blades are working, you will need them in heavy snow / rain etc.
  • Check your tyres – they need to be in perfect working order. Speak to us at Maurice Dunne Motors if you are considering winter tyres.
  • Again – check the spare wheel.
  • Check your fog lights – you need to be seen.
  • Check your car for anti-freeze
  • Check all your lights are in working order.

We suggest that you keep the following items in your car in the event you break down.

  • Check your fog lights – you need to be seen.
  • Spare Tire along with jack etc.
  • Tire Inflater & Sealer (for those who are not comfortable or cannot change a tyre – this will keep you going long enough to get to a garage.
  • Jump Leads
  • Car Manual
  • Tyre Pressure Gauge if you do not have nearby facilities to check. We can check this at Maurice Dunne’s for you.
  • Your Maurice Dunne business card – because you never know when your phone is dead and you need to use somebody elses.
  • Your License
  • Your insurance companies number. Again, you never know when you will need this.
  • First Aid kits. Hopefully never needed but essential for those times you do.
  • Torch.
  • Bottles of water – filing washer / radiator in an emergency.
  • Some type of food / breakfast bars on the off chance you are waiting a long time for help.
  • Portable Phone charger – keep charged.
  • High Vis vest. & reflective triangle. Being seen is paramount.
